Our family has been very eager for the season to start since, with one year under our belt, we know more of what to expect and are comfortable with how to fit in Spring chores. At the same time, life at Briarmoore has become exponentially busy over the last couple of weeks! Hens are laying, cows are grazing, chicks are growing and rabbits are (ahem) being rabbits.

It’s hard to believe this year’s first batch of chicks will soon be on pasture. John has spent some time prepping chicken pens which sustained a bit of damage from the excessive amounts of snow and cold temperatures we received this winter.

Amazingly, the kids thrive under the pressure of added daily chores and expectations in addition to their schooling and regular activities. They are so much more eager and capable to help than last year. They have grown and matured so much.

They are extremely resourceful and sure know how to enjoy a well deserved treat!

Those pictures made me smile and reminded me of my own kids when they were little. Chores are awesome character builders. Keep up the good work!
