Warm sun, falling leaves, and FROST!

As I sit and type this post, the golden sun is pouring into my office, the leaves on the big tree outside the window are slowly falling, and there is FROST blanketing the farm!

This is going to be a CRAZY week! Personally, I’m super busy with work…and nationally, the presidential elections are tomorrow! I’ve been hearing so many people talk about the negativity surrounding these elections and I think I agree that I’ll be very happy when it’s all over! (Luckily, we don’t have a house phone so we’re not getting bombarded with political organizations calling our house every hour!)

So, instead of focusing on the negativity of the election and the media, I’m choosing to appreciate the small things…like the warm sun, the falling leaves, and the frost!

What are some of your favorite things about this time of year?!

How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?

These are gorgeous pictures! My neck of the woods looks a lot like yours…Augusta County. I think the sky has been absolutely dramatic the last week, especially at dawn and dusk. I think I need to restart enjoying coffee on the porch – I don’t want to miss this wonderful season!

::sigh:: Your pictures really are beautiful.

  2. Rain, rain, rain. Still fairly mild temperatures – we’ve only had 2 light frosts, and won’t get any while it keeps raining like this. Things I love about this time of year? Probably the early evenings – a chance to be compelled to be indoors and together as a family. The food – I love winter food – stews, casseroles, fruit crumbles, applesauce, etc.

Warming up to a campfire is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the fall weather. No frost yet here in Northern Virginia, but I look forward to hearing the ground crunch underneath my feet when we get our first hard frost!

What I loved most about this weekend was “Fall Back” …… Fall back is always so much nicer than Spring Foreward. As to weather, ours has been lovely this week.

Down here in Sunny Florida we’re still having 80 degree weather during the days, but last week we had a cold front (that Hurricane Sandy trailed in behind her) and it was amazing! So refreshing after a very hot summer. Looking forward to more cold weather and our trip up north in a few weeks 🙂
