Rainy Days & Spring Cleaning

Well I think it’s safe to say that today is no ordinary day in April…it’s cold and rainy and they are even calling for flurries tonight! What?!! Hope the chickens on pasture are able to stay warm!

Because the past few days have been dreary, I’ve slowly began feeling the need for spring cleaning. What better time to clean than when you’re stuck inside? I need to run with this because I don’t get this urge very often :).

So, here’s to spring cleaning on a rainy day.

What are your favorite cleaners to use while you’re spring cleaning? Any homemade recipes I should know about?! Please share!!

We had snow yesterday morning and this morning! I cleaned yesterday and today I am making myself do my back paperwork. My favorite thing to use when I clean is bleach. I add a splash to my mop water, it just makes the whole house smell fresh.

This is my favorite cleaner – I use it to clean windows, although I tend to use it as an all-purpose cleaner too, because it smells good! My dog likes to lick the patio door after I clean, though (it must be the lemons), so it may be counter-productive! 🙂

    1 gallon water
    1/4 c. white vinegar
1 squirt dish detergent (I use Watkins organic)
    Juice from 1/2 lemon, strained
Mix and pour into a spray bottle

  4. We’re still waiting for the rain and winter to go away here. Although the leaves on the trees are just barely starting to swell.
