Return to Polyface

It’s so good to be back at Polyface! I went home for a week to have my wisdom teeth removed and it is so good to be here again. Being home and spending time with my sweet family was a blessing, too.

I was surprised how much had changed in the short time I was home: wood from the mountain was already on the pile for winter, mums were on the front porch, only one broiler batch was left, and everyone was wearing their sweaters and knitted hats ~ it seemed like fall had come to the farm!

A cold front had come in literally overnight, although we will probably still have some warm days ahead. How about you? What’s the weather like where y’all live?

Here’s a picture from fall last year…..

Happy Thursday!

Weather! Wow! I think Maryland is trying to become the tropics! We found out yesterday that the reason the ants have been so bad in our houses this year is because they are searching for higher ground to avoid the flooding in their homes! Still have a garden though, and we are starting to can green beans before the weather turns too cold – a nice crop is starting! Glad your back!

Hot, sticky….ugh!!!! We had a couple of days where it was in the high 60’s, but it didn’t last long. 🙁
