Be Connected

Chapter 9 Discussion

In this chapter, Joel says, “It’s time to take personal responsibility and realize joining causes might assuage your guilt, but it won’t do any good.” Do you agree with this statement?

He goes on to talk about a couple from Canada who spent a whole year souring local foods so that at the end of the year, nothing in their home had a bar code. Is this something you do or would do? Why or why not?

How hard is it for you to get local food and know your farmer? What things would make it easier for you to get connected?

Acquainted with the Kitchen

Chapter 10 Discussion

Let’s talk about ways that you can rediscover your kitchen.

What advice would you give to someone who is too busy to cook?

Why is cooking in your own home so important?
