Oh Sew Knit

Hey all, it’s Friday, so Sheri is here again!

I thought that I would share pictures of my newest handmade project. As you may know from a post (quite a while back actually) previously, last summer I learned to knit.
I’ve been sewing since I was about eight years and have always loved it, so when I saw this project which has a combination of knitting and sewing, I jumped on it.

This is our 3 year old daughter, Lauryn modeling her new dress.

For those of you interested, you can find the free pattern for this dress here.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you Sheri for sharing! I am a knitter as well as many other things (we get flack for making so many of our own things). Folks wonder if we make our own TP!. In the last several years I have purposed to learn something new during the winter months when things slow down a bit. One year it was miitens, I wanted to conquer the thumb gusset. Last winter I made a pair of socks, actually two pairs. This was a big deal. I have always wanted to make socks but thought I would probably only get one done with the time I have or when I make the second sock I will somehow end up with a different size. Then I found a book that taught how to knit two socks at a time. That was the answer for me. Now I need to practice more for perfection. But I won’t have the same worries to consider. Thanks for encouraging and supporting the “lost” arts !! Cris
